Who is the 47 Construction Company?
The 47 Construction Company was formed by Kristen and Kevin Houser, who currently plays professional football for the city of New Orleans as their long snapper.
The name 47 Construction was inspired by Kevin Houser’s black and gold team jersey number.
The goal of 47 Construction is to be the most reliable... trusted and efficient construction company in New Orleans.
We strongly believe in our honest intentions to help rebuild the city and want you to believe in us as well.
Together we will rebuild New Orleans One Home at a Time!
Why a Construction Company in New Orleans?
Both Kevin and Kristen experienced the devastating affects of Hurricane Katrina. Many of their friends lost houses or family members involved in the storm.
First Came a Mold Remediation Company
After a year of watching New Orleans slowly trying to rebuild itself to it's grand stature, Kevin and Kristen decided to invest in a mold remediation franchise to deal with one of the main problems from the water damage. Thus Global Prevention Services of Louisiana a mold removal company was started.
After launching GPS, Kevin’s cousin a construction engineer, (Eric Unser) from New York, was extremely touched by the aftermath of the storm. He also wanted to be part of the team and the rebuilding process of New Orleans.
Therefore, forming 47 Construction became our next goal and helping to rebuild New Orleans became our new mission.
The Houser's Work with Charitable Organizations
Kevin and Kristen have been a part of the city and football team for eight years. They have been involved with many charitable organizations including one they founded themselves called the "Life's A Snap Foundation".
The Life's A Snap Foundation has helped the Children's Hospital in New Orleans with various programs geared towards children with cancer.
Life’s A Snap has also helped the inner city children of New Orleans by donating time and money to the Y.E.T. Center (Youth Education Town).
Contributions to various funds like The Children's Hospital at The Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland Ohio (Kevin and Kristen's hometown) Metro Hospital and The American Cancer Society have also been made in the past. Not to mention the many other outside organizations who qualified for donations. If you would like to make a donation to the Life’s A Snap Foundation, to help continue this valable work, you are invited to visit the Foundation website at http://www.LifesaSnap.org.
